Before you travel

Planning this journey

For a downtown Seattle pickup, name the hotel or building and its intended entrance. A waterfront stop and a business-building stop should be separate itinerary entries, even when the addresses look close on a map. If a cruise is involved, check the terminal in your ship documents: the Port identifies Bell Street at Pier 66 on the downtown waterfront, while Smith Cove at Pier 91 is a separate terminal. Do not use the hotel name as a substitute for the pier.

Hotel entrance or waterfront stop?

For a hotel pickup, send the property name and street address together with the entrance your group will use. If luggage is stored at the hotel while you visit the waterfront, describe collecting it as a stop rather than assuming it fits inside a direct terminal transfer. Identify who will be with the bags and who can answer messages. Ask the hotel for its current vehicle-loading instructions and pass those on with the itinerary.

Keep a downtown day in order

A meeting, luggage collection and cruise check-in each need their own passenger-ready time. Write the sequence before choosing hourly availability or separate transfers. Tell the coordinator which deadline comes from a host and which is only an estimate. For the return, name the final hotel or airport rather than asking for a downtown drop-off. The cruise-transfer route guide is useful for checking that the request identifies the pier and the onward destination separately.
